Week 5:“What have we done so far that has been helpful to your writing process? How might you apply this helpful information or tool? What has been confusing/What would you like to spend more time on? If the clarification/additional focus does not occur during class time, how will you acquire the knowledge?”
In this course, we introduced ourselves in discussion and also talked about our strengths and weaknesses in writing, in order to better understand and learn from others how to improve our writing ability. Also wrote the Product Review essay, and when we finished the essay, the professor asked us to have a peer discussion, which meant that we had to read each other’s essay and give comments, as well as how to effectively highlight some central ideas about the larger social significance. This process helps me understand what readers think of my articles and helps us listen to others through discussion and reading.
When writing a paper, my strategy is to start with brainstorming, to write down the sudden and piecemeal inspiration, and then to write the essay and create the first draft. First drafts are presented to professors and peer reviewers for feedback. Through feedback from classmates and professors, I revised the first draft, then wrote the final draft and reflected on it.
In class, we learned how to use generators to get cited works. The professor is asking us to use the citation generator and the works citation generator to modify the works I cite so that I cite them better in the essay. The result of this course is “Practicing systematic application of reference conventions”.
